Test & Develop your UAV's in Cornwall

With thousands of acres of open space, Cornish skies have the airspace you need to safely test and operate your UAV.

Here, you’ll find a vibrant drone community with numerous cutting-edge companies and organizations dedicated to exploring the potential of drones.

Here are just a few of the reasons why the region is the perfect spot for drone testing and development:

Windracers specialize in using unmanned aerial vehicles for humanitarian purposes, such as delivering medical supplies to remote areas.  Their collaboration with Royal Mail saw much needed Covid NHS supplies flown to the Isles of Scilly from mainland Cornwall.

Skyports is collaborating with Droneprep on the Open Skies Project – an initiative to establish UAV sky highways, in order to reach remote areas.

Wholeship runs Predannack Airfield – a former RAF base in Cornwall which provides a secure and controlled environment for UAV testing BVLOS, with a sand box environment.

A Unique Opportunity

Cornwall is home to the first ever commercial UAV flight between Land’s End airport and St Mary’s airport on the Isles of Scilly. Flylogix and the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company partnered to develop a route between the islands and the mainland – paving the way for a lifeline connection using drones to deliver essential goods.

This commercial route is available for test flights.
